Louisville Real Estate

On October 8, 1834, Louisville was formally settled by Henry Lautzenheiser, and Henry Fainot. The city was named after Lautzenheiser's son, Lewis, and called Lewisville. When the post office was established in 1837, it was discovered Ohio already had a Lewisville, so the spelling was changed to Louisville. Platted in 1872, Louisville is the oldest settled community in the Nimishillen Township.

Louisville has numerous parks including Mary C. Metzger Park, Howard E. "Peg" Wilson Park, Andy Aljancic Park and Croston Park. Goodtimes Amusement Park and Cleveland Botanical Garden are also well-known attractions in the area. Art museums include Akron Art Museum and Canton Museum of Art. Portage Lakes State Park, Sippo Lake Park, Lake Milton State Park and Gorge Metropolitan are places where people can enjoy camping, fishing, boating, hiking and swimming.
